The UK’s First Public CBPM Cost Calculator

Side by side strain comparison using the same consumption pattern, showing cost, THC exposure, and terpene overlap between products
CBPM Tool Update

UK medical cannabis patients are expected to manage complex, ongoing treatment costs with remarkably little transparency. Prescription portals rarely show realistic monthly spend. THC percentages are presented without context. Tolerance breaks are discussed in theory, not numbers. Terpenes are listed, but disconnected from cost and budgeting.

To the best of my knowledge, there hasn’t been a public tool that pulls all of this together for UK patients, for free, without a login, and without any data capture.

This is a free tool released for public medical use. No account. No clinic portal. No referrals. No “sign up to see your results”. It exists to give patients visibility over cost and dosage, using numbers they can sanity check.

What the calculator does, in plain English

This is not a strain picker. It’s not a clinic comparison page. It’s not a sales funnel. It’s a budgeting and transparency tool that lets patients answer questions they’re otherwise left to guess.

  • How much am I actually spending per month on CBPM?
  • How many grams and how much label THC does that represent?
  • What does my absorbed THC look like based on route?
  • What does a tolerance break realistically save over a year?
  • How does switching products change cost and exposure, not just THC percent?

Real formulary integration, not abstract numbers

One of the biggest upgrades is the addition of Curaleaf formulary presets. Instead of manually entering THC percentage and price every time, users can select real products and start from known values.

The key detail is that nothing is locked. All values remain editable. The preset is a starting point, not a cage.

Terpenes connected to cost, not marketing blurbs

Terpenes are often treated as flavour text. Interesting, but detached from decision making. Here, terpene profiles can be used to filter presets and compare overlap between strains. The calculator is explicit about limitations. These are general descriptions, not promises. Everybody responds differently.

The value is that terpene choice is finally visible alongside cost. You can see whether you are paying more for a profile you value, or whether a cheaper option delivers a similar profile at your current usage pattern.

THC maths, shown properly

THC percentage alone is a blunt instrument. The calculator separates label THC from absorbed THC estimates and keeps the outputs consistent. That matters because higher THC does not automatically mean better value.

  • Label THC per session and per day
  • Estimated absorbed THC per day, based on route and bioavailability assumption
  • Cost efficiency per 1000 mg of label THC

Tolerance breaks, quantified instead of hand waved

Tolerance breaks are often recommended without any discussion of the budget impact. This tool models tolerance breaks using your monthly spend, break length, and frequency per year, then shows the savings.

For many patients, that changes the conversation from vague advice to practical planning.

Side by side strain comparison that holds still

The comparison feature applies the same pattern to two products and shows the difference clearly. Same grams per session. Same sessions per day. Same route. Same assumptions. Different product.

Who this tool is for

This tool is for patients who want to understand their treatment in practical terms. It’s for people budgeting month to month, considering a product switch, or trying to explain costs to someone else.

It does not provide medical advice. It does not replace clinical guidance. It does not predict individual response. It is a budgeting, transparency, and education tool.

Why it’s free and public

Patients should not need to be tracked, marketed to, or funnelled into a portal to understand their own treatment costs. This is released free for public medical use because transparency should not be a premium feature.
