Adding Fuel to the Fire
Organisations often fall back on the same tired playbook when challenged. They gaslight those raising concerns, dismissing them as unreasonable. They throw up gatekeeping barriers, dragging out responses and hiding behind procedures. They assume this will wear people down until the fire fizzles out.
The Miscalculation
These tactics do not put out the fire. They do the opposite. Each act of avoidance, each attempt to silence, each unnecessary obstacle adds fuel. The fire does not fade — it spreads.
Why It Backfires
Injustice does not disappear when ignored. It becomes sharper, better documented, and harder to defend. Every delay is another note in the record. Every excuse is another example of the system at work. Instead of weakening the case, these behaviours strengthen it.
The Outcome
Gaslighting and gatekeeping were meant to contain me. Instead, they created momentum, highlighted weak governance, and proved that avoidance is not resolution.
