When Christian Values Stop at the Door: A Dissection of The Recruitment Junction’s Response

On July 11, 2025, I received a formal response from Beverley Brooks, CEO of The Recruitment Junction, regarding concerns I had escalated to the organisation’s trustees. Her response is shown in full below – not because it resolves anything, but because it exposes a worrying pattern of exclusion, retaliation, and blurred governance.

Important note: My initial complaint was addressed to the Board of Trustees. It was Beverley herself who chose to intercept and respond, despite the clear conflict of interest and contradiction of TRJ’s own complaints policy, which has also been included.

The Letter They Didn’t Want You to See

Below are the full images of Beverley Brooks’ response, which was issued directly – and prematurely – without oversight from the board:

What Triggered the Block

What started all this?I sent a polite and formal reply by email. In it, I raised concerns about the conflicting nature between the values TRJ publicly promotes and the internal policies that appear to undermine them. I also reminded Beverley of TRJ’s own published Christian values – including respect, compassion, and second chances. I wasn’t aggressive, vulgar, or disrespectful. I was direct, lawful, and honest.

Shortly after, I was informed that all further emails from me would be blocked and my Probation Officer would be notified. No formal safeguarding process. No mediation. No reply from trustees. Just instant shutdown.

My formal complaint letter may be available on our site after the Trustees’ meeting on the 15th August. We also plan to release the email correspondence pertaining to the abrupt withdrawal of support in response to my respectful feedback in due course.

The Real Timeline

Let’s be clear. I was not ignored by staff prior to this. I did receive responses – particularly from my recruitment consultant who I hold no grievances with. But I was told outright that I would not be put forward for jobs unless I agreed to use their standardised CV template. I challenged that, respectfully, because I already had a professional CV that reflected my lived experience and skills more accurately. That challenge was met with increasing defensiveness, culminating in a complete withdrawal of service within 20 minutes of sending an email to Beverley Brooks.

Reasonable Adjustments Are Not Optional

The letter makes multiple references to “ChatGPT-generated opinion” and “spamming team members.” These were not casual emails. They were structured, clearly labelled, and sent with every attempt to remain accessible and respectful. As someone with autism, I rely on written clarity, mutual respect – especially for self-autonomy, and a basic understanding of my complex needs, more specifically what communication needs I may require beyond just written communication. I didn’t get any of that from Beverley Brooks.

They claim to support neurodivergent people. Yet they penalised me for the very traits they claim to understand. That’s not training. That’s theatre.

Safeguarding Shouldn’t Be Political

There was no visible safeguarding review prior to service withdrawal. There was no attempt to understand or de-escalate. And the timing of the withdrawal — just 20 minutes after my initial challenge to Beverley – raises serious questions about procedure. How could any safeguarding due diligence possibly have taken place in that window?

Instead of acting in line with their public values, TRJ leaned on organisational power to shut me down. They didn’t just withdraw support – they tried to make me invisible. It hasn’t worked.

Values Mean Nothing Without Integrity

TRJ says it believes in second chances. But it seems that only applies if you never ask questions or raise concerns. If you’re neurodivergent, outspoken, or detail-oriented – good luck. You’re on borrowed time the moment you speak up.

We Document Everything

I am publishing this not to be malicious, but to ensure transparency, particularly where legal rights, safeguarding responsibilities, and public funding intersect. TRJ’s conduct is now on record – in images, emails, and timelines – and the public has a right to see what’s really happening behind the polished branding.

…and in-case you hadn’t already guessed, I was blocked for a 3rd time after sending that email.
