So, You Know the Mission… But Who Are We?

You’ve probably seen the name by now. You’ve read the mission, maybe skimmed a few pages, maybe sent a link to someone else.

You know Kieron. That bit’s straightforward. He’s the one behind most of this – writing, challenging decisions, chasing answers. Not trying to start a movement. Just not happy staying quiet.

Sometimes, emails or letters might come from the advocacy side of things, on Kieron’s behalf. But the drive behind it all – the intention, the questions, the challenge – that’s coming from him too.

So what’s with the “we”?

Well – it’s not a secret team. There’s no group behind the curtain. “We” is just how The Reasonable Adjustment speaks. It’s a way of saying this doesn’t belong to one person.

This isn’t a brand. It’s not a campaign. It’s not even an organisation. It’s just an idea – that things should be fair, and when they’re not, someone should say so.

If that makes sense to you, if it hits a nerve, then you’re already part of it. That’s the point.

Sometimes that means sharing a story. Sometimes it means building tools. Sometimes it’s just asking a good question at the right time.

We’re not here to impress anyone. We’re here because sometimes a quiet “no, actually” is enough to start something.

There’s something to be said about how differently people respond when you speak from a platform – even a small one. The same message, sent with a bit of structure or a name they can Google, gets a very different reaction than if it came from just another inbox in the pile. It shouldn’t be that way, but it is. And that, in itself, is part of the problem we’re pointing at.

Insofar, as people only listen when they think you matter – we’ll keep making sure we do.
