We’re excited to launch NeutroFilter – a free, browser-based tool built to help disabled, neurodivergent, and marginalised individuals write safely, clearly, and with full control over how they are represented.
What is NeutroFilter?
NeutroFilter automatically rephrases legally protected or sensitive medical terms into neutral, rights-conscious alternatives. It helps you communicate essential support needs while reducing the risk of bias, ableism, or misunderstanding – especially when writing to employers, institutions, or gatekeepers.
It’s designed for:
- Disabled people navigating discrimination
- Neurodivergent individuals communicating access needs
- Anyone who wants to stay safe while asserting their rights
Why It Matters
Too often, the language we use to describe ourselves can be used against us – even in subtle ways. Diagnoses, labels, or medicalised language can shift the tone of a conversation before your point is even heard.
NeutroFilter flips that script. It lets you choose how much detail you share – and how you say it.
It’s:
- 🛡️ Privacy-first (runs entirely in your browser)
- 🧠 Context-aware (keeps grammar intact)
- ✏️ Straightforward (just paste, click, and copy)
- 💬 Empowering (you’re still the author — it just clears the path)
Example:
Original:
“I’m autistic and recently diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. I also suffer from anxiety.”
After using NeutroFilter:
“I experience communication differences and have a digestive health condition. I also experience situational stress.”
Built By and For Lived Experience
This tool is part of a broader movement toward self-advocacy, dignity, and autonomy. It was built in-house at The Reasonable Adjustment to reflect real-world challenges that aren’t theoretical – they’re lived.
No tracking. No data collection. No assumptions. Just a bit of power back in your hands.
